The DGCA regulates the eligibility criteria for becoming a Private Pilot. You must meet the age, education and medical fitness criteria to get PPL.
Minimum 17 years of age to be eligible for a PPL
Must complete the 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics from a recognised board or NIOS
Should have a Class II Medical Certificate for fitness eligibility

After gaining sufficient skills, students move towards completing their solo flight and then cross-country flying.
